Outfit post: Monocrome

Monochrome to match the weather!

Image
Blouse - Forever 21
Necklace & Bangle - Primark
Jeggings and ballet flats - Dorothy Perkins
Nail polish - Rimmel

First things first, I am in love with these jeggings. I am seriously late to the jeggings party and I apologise profusely. Spotted in Dorothy Perkins, I was in need of an alternative to jeans and spotted these lovelies on the sale rail. Reduced to £15 from £30. Score!

Moving is expensive so Primark has been my go to for cheap fashion jewellery. I love this statement necklace and this bangle is actually from a three pack which is ideal for matching with different outfits. Also, one great thing about living in London is that I finally have access to Forever 21. Woop! It is actually a crime that there isn't one in Manchester yet.

It's quite funny I've been wearing so much black recently as I'm usually a rainbow of colours. I'm putting it down to me not being so happy with my size. But hey ho, I'm a slimming world member now and have lost half a stone so far so I'm well on the way to being a healthy size again :)

Have you been sticking to darker colours recently or are you a rainbow despite the weather?

Dripping paint nails

It's been a while since I last painted my nails so I decided it was time to crack out the nail varnish again.  As usual, I had one idea of what I was doing in my head but it ended up as something completely different. In these situations I tend to just shrug my shoulders and go "Oh well, I meant to do that". I like this much better than my original plan anyway!

The bf says it reminds him of rhubarb and custard. Nice and summery! Right, back to job hunting.

Have you done any nail art recently?

Glitter times

Who says glitter nail polish should be reserved for the evening? I felt in a glittery mood on Saturday while I was in the shop so I painted my nails with Rimmel London's "Disco Ball".

Though I really do like the blue, purple silver glitter combo - I have to advise that you use this as a top coat over something else. It took 4 or 5 coats to get this many glitter pieces on my nails. Not ideal if you're getting ready for a night out.

Though I will agree with the lasting finish the bottle claims. Not one chip since Saturday. Not looking forward to trying to get this off though, glitter is always a pain. Ah well, I'll get over it.

Do you think glitter nail polish is just for the evening?

My week: 21

Now I know I wished for summer to come, but wow. There wasn't even an adjustment period there - just boom, it's hot now. I may have been a bit under prepared there and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

*Loads more dandelions appeared in my bf's garden. Love them.
*Never get up when there are cats in the house, one is bound to steal your place.
*Lilac nails! I love Rimmel 60 second nail polish.
*An illustration I'm working on my iPad at the moment during my lunch breaks. That background colour is not the final one, just a mistaken tap but I thought it was kinda cool so I snapped a pic to remember it.
*Fruit pastel lolly at Chester Zoo today.
*Lots of ideas! My creative juices are flowing (yes I did just say that...sorry).
*Not part of my usual job but I got to go competition shopping on Friday. How funky is that telephone cushion? And that heart one is made up of pics of buttons!
*Eurovision!

An absolutely boiling week and a packed weekend. Friday, I hung out with Claire and her sister Amy where we watched Once upon a time (addicted!). Saturday I went back round to hang out with the bf and finish the current season of The Amazing Race and then watch Eurovision in the evening. Now you either love or hate it, but we love it. It's just so hilarious. Those Russian grannies were robbed. We were also big fans of Turkey who turned themselves into a boat with their capes! Awesome.

Sunday, I decided I wanted to do something different and give my awesome camera a day out so me and the bf headed to Chester Zoo. It was awesome and I took loads of photos. I will do a post dedicated to it next week with just the best photos I think. I love my camera! Even though we were both shattered by the end, I really had an awesome day with the bf :) I love our days out.

How was your week?
