2012

So, I know some people are for and against having a year in review on blogs, but I personally like looking back at the year. It's a nice reminder to myself since I have the memory of a goldfish!

Time to step back in time for the highlights of my year:

Jan

Feb

March

April

May

June

July

Nov

Dec
Couldn't squeeze writing on to this one:
Top row: Opened a shop in Afflecks, Christmas dinner, Went to see the Hobbit
Bottom row: Christmas tree, Bf's birthday, Another pic of my shop

There's been ups and downs this year but I wouldn't change a thing. I've got big plans for 2013 and can't wait to start. Happy New Year!

Was 2012 a winner for you?

Oasis Spring Summer 2012

I bought Company High-Street Edit for the first time this weekend and was engrossed with all the gorgeous clothes for the season.

The one that stood out to me was Oasis. I love walking into an Oasis store but the clothes tend to be a bit out of my price range. Still, I can drool over their S/S 2012 collection.

This dress is adorable! Makes me think of picnics, holidays and sunshine. Shame I couldn't trust me and my clumsy ways wearing this much white.

Love these outfits - so 50s-esque!

Oasis is the temple of prints. Even though I can't wear some of the colours, they are so pretty I would frame them and put them on my wall.

I love this blouse and pray to Oasis that they have a dress version. It would be an amazing statement piece. Still, the blouse and skirt (below) are beautiful. If I had to pick one to invest in, it would be the skirt just because I could see it fitting into my wardrobe better. Will be keeping an eye out for that on the website.

Company High Street Edit also had a feature about how Oasis get their design ideas. In a nutshell, they look to the streets and markets around the world for vintage print inspiration. That sounds like my ideal job! I do that kind of thing for my small vintage business, but it would be amazing to create something original out of it.

It's a nice change from all the pastels I'm seeing, which I like but aren't very wearable for me. I feel like I could actually wear a good chunk of this collection. Love it!

Resolution roundup: January

So how did everyone's January go? I'd like to actually keep track of my resolutions this year so I'm going to keep track of them here. I originally posted them here.

1. Take care of my face.
I think I've done really well so far. I haven't missed a day in my skincare routine which makes this the longest time I've actually followed one without missing a day. Even after a night out. Though there hasn't really been a difference on my face, I'm going to keep at it. Maybe I'll adapt my routine a bit. Fingers crossed for next month.

2. Take my shops Random Quirks and Toast Rack to new heights.
Well I've been working hard on both shops and have been getting sales. I took part in a craft and vintage fair and have bought all my new supplies for S/S 12. The biggest development is the Random Quirks website which is being created by my big brother. It is looking great so far and I can't wait to see what it looks like when he's finished. More big plans for February are on the way!

3. Save money.
I have been successfully putting money aside in both my savings and an extra account for when I eventually move in with the bf. See, 2 accounts for my long term and short term goals - aren't I grown up?

4. Keep blogging regularly
I reckon I've been doing pretty well. 16 blog posts in January is not bad at all. And I managed 6 posts on my other blog for my shops. Carrying on!

5. See more, do more. Take photos! Try new and different things.
Have been trying to do things on my to do list and documenting them with pics. Managed to go to the science museum, see my mum and brother, go on an impromptu night out, cinema, buffets, and generally chill with the bf and friends. I have more plans for February including a surprise for you. On Monday I may be blogging from a random place in the world. But where? This was very last minute as I found out I have 6 days holiday. How to use them? You'll see...

Right, that's a lot of text. Here's a pic of the shoe on my shoe calendar today.

How costumey! Reminds me of a masquerade ball or something like that.

So, how have your resolutions been going?

So long 2011!

I only started this blog at the beginning of December but I am really enjoying it so far. Thank you to the lovely people that commented on a couple of my posts - it made my day :)

So this is the part where I make my resolutions yes? Ok here it goes:

1. Take care of my face: Quite a shallow first one, but it is still suffering from my year of working in retail and is rather scary to look at without makeup so I think it is necessary. It's the only one I've got and I'll be 24 (what I count as the beginning of the mid twenties!) in 2012 so I will follow my mums advice and take care of it. Why hello there angels on bare skin

2. Take my shops Random Quirks and Toast Rack to new heights. More fairs, more action and generally put some more effort into them. They do quite well when I actually list stuff but I have quite a lazy nature so they could be doing a whole lot better. This will hopefully include getting the Random Quirks website up and running finally.

3. Save money. I am currently in a very comfortable financial position now that I have a career job and I still live with friends so my rent is super low. I plan on moving in the summer so I will have less money as I will be paying more. Therefore I must start putting more money into my savings now. Plus I'd finally be free to buy cute homeware stuff so that needs cash!

4. Keep blogging regularly. I am really enjoying this and am not going to stop now :) It's a great way to document my life as I don't have the best memory ha ha. Plus its a great outlet for all my fashion thoughts etc.

5. See more, do more. Take photos! Try new and different things. Just what it says on the tin. I want to see now places, try new things. And of course that includes food! In 2011 I tried snails for the first time (not so bad if you don't think about the fact that they are snails) and for 2012 would like to try something equally as weird, though maybe less gross!

What are your 2012 resolutions?
