#BEDM Day 21: Stop! Collaborate!

Since last year, my boyfriend Topher and I have done a podcast together called He Watch, She Watch.  It's a bit of fun that we do to make each other watch our film collections which are vastly different. As the tag line goes, it's one couple arguing through their DVD collection. 

This episode sees Topher watching Legally Blonde 2 and me watching Arachnid, some C movie from 2001. Hilarity ensues...

Topher on Legally Blonde 2:

"It's like the first one, only not as good. Not that the first one was good"

Diane on Arachnid:

"His name was Lead Valentine, I was like, are we in some sort of Mills & Boon novel?"

HWSW Episode 7: Russian to get Vogue

We're back! Topher and I put our podcast on a hiatus while we moved and until our work schedules aligned again and though the latter isn't quite there yet we managed to record another episode of He Watch, She Watch. However while recording episode 8, it came to light that I hadn't actually published Episode 7. I seriously don't miss my zombie days at all! So in a way that's a positive factor as now we have two episodes in the bag until we can get behind the microphone again.

This episode sees us watch The September Issue - a must have documentary for any fashion lover, and Nightwatch - a vampire film about light and dark. It's safe to say that Topher had a few opinions about having to watch a fashion film!


We really missed recording these and can't wait to get back into it. Episode 8 and all the episodes to follow will have a slightly different format as we want to spice things up a bit, but that's all to come. For now, I hope you enjoy episode 7.

We had a bit of a break while we were away on holiday but now Topher and I are back in business with episode 6 of He Watch She Watch. He Watch She Watch Episode 4: Naughty Napoleon

And the arguing begins! Never thought it would be over a film like Sin City but there we go. This was a good week as Topher finally saw Napoleon Dynamite which he has always refused to watch the entire 5 years we've been together. Score! Take a listen to find out if he liked it:

He Watch, She watch, Episode Two - Equilibrium Lady

So this is going to become a regular occurrence around here in future. Topher and I are having an awesome time recording podcasts and taking it in turns to torture each other with our film collections. See here for Episode 1. He watch, She watch - Episode 1 Lethal Blonde

A while back, I challenged my boyfriend to a DVD-Off (if there is such a term). You see, we have separate DVD collections that the other refuses to watch. I'm sure every couple has one, even if it's not as vast as ours. Topher's tastes and my own differ quite a bit. He likes horror, I like comedy. Of course our tastes do overlap but there is a large section that doesn't. 

So, tired of not being able to watch any of my own films, we decided to do a project together called "He Watch, She Watch". I originally meant for us to just watch each others films and do a write up on this blog afterwards but this idea evolved last month. After attending Blognix and The High Tea Cast's podcast talk, I had a brainwave to turn He Watch, She Watch into a podcast. 

So here it is. Just over 15 minutes of Topher and I discussing the project and watching the first films, Legally Blonde and Lethal Weapon. We used Garage Band on my Macbook and I will admit that I had never used this programme before opening it up and recording this first episode so bear with us, it's a little bit bad but apparently according to the two friends we've allowed a listen before publishing, not that bad. So listen, and enjoy!
