April, May and June

Just a re-cap of what I've been up to the last three months.

uk

Popped home for a week to visit my parents, Celebrated with the bf on finishing his disseration & degree, discovered the awesomeness that is Wasabi, Tried a pie at Pi in Chorlton.

In May, I got to go to Florida! My mum was there to check on our house that we rent out and wanted some company. No problemo!

My auntie, uncle and youngest cousin recently moved to Orlando so me and my mum went with them for little Hamza's first trip to the Magic Kingdom.

Sunset, Magic Kingdom!, my mum and I with our fancy Mickey and Minnie ears, couldn't go to Florida without paying universal studios a visit, yummy margarita, my mum is apparently a bad ass at shooting games. We weren't a third of the way round Buzz Lightyear before she maxed out her score pad. I don't know who was more surprised!

We even did the special 24 hour event at Magic Kingdom on the 24th May where it was open from 6am - 6am! We knew we wouldn't be able to handle the full 24 hours so we just went from 6pm to 6am. It was awesome seeing the park overnight and I had a blast spending time with my mum.

I made a new friend at Universal. Meet Melvin. He likes fries and has no concept of personal space.

To celebrate my birthday (cough*25*cough), I decided to drag some friends along to 2.8 hours later. The gist is that you run away from zombies and try not to get caught.

One thing I was reminded of during this was that I am so unfit! Though I am proud to say that I made it 3/4's of the way through before being caught. The bf was the only one out of our group of 9 that survived. The rest of us got to put on zombie make-up at the end for the zombie disco. I really really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it - they do it every year.

On my actual birthday; me, the bf and Claire made a fort in the living room and watched all 8 Harry Potter films in a row. They dumped a load of balloons on me so the fort was filled with them all day. Such children we are :)

The bf made me an awesome New Girl themed card. He always sang along with the theme tune and ended with "It's Chris!" so it was a pretty funny idea :)

My awesome birthday cake as made by Claire.

Oh and I saw Despicable Me 2 the other day. It's funny - go see it!

I don't feel much different being 25 apart from the lack of direction in my life. I feel like I should be acting more grown up but oh well. I'll figure it all out soon.

Back to job hunting amigos!

My week: 28

I actually took quite a few photos this week. I'm quite impressed I had to go through and narrow them down. I hope to keep up this habit.

my week 28 a>

*Drawing I did on housemate's t-shirt by their request
*Salmon, rice and courgettes
* Starbucks at the office
*One of my colleague's got some stickers and was very nice and shared. There weren't many left but I was quite pleased with the result.
*My painting is coming along slowly but surely. The sky kinda looks more like the sea though....ah well - artistic licence. I meant to do that.
*Went to fab cafe for my friend's birthday. It's a must for any sci-fi nerd living in or visiting Manchester. Every club needs a darlek in the corner and a mural including Spock. I'm loving that Zapp Brannigan was there as well.
*Finally used my Lush fairy want from Christmas - smells like Snow Fairy!
* My outfit for the birthday night out. Dress is from Monsoon - picked up for £25 in the sale reduced from like £85
*My refreshing pint of lemonade at the Chorlton vintage fair. Explore More - wise words indeed.
* A little peek at my stall.

So for the last week I've been all by my lonesome while the bf and my housemates have been away but it hasn't been too bad. I've kept myself busy. I'm looking forward to having everyone back though, especially the bf of course. It's weird having the whole bed to myself - I keep waking up diagonal at the wrong side!

This weekend, I went to a vintage fair in Chorlton which was really fun and then I had to hurry home to get ready for my friend's birthday night out. Sunday was spent mooching around the house trying to get stuff done.

This week coming up is going to be good because it's only a 4 day work week for me. I took Friday and next tuesday off around the bank holiday so I'm getting an epic 5 day weekend. Then only a 3 day work week next week. Why can't it always be this way?

How was your week? Do you have any plans for the bank holiday weekend?

My week: 26

Hi there. Would have posted my week in photos yesterday but I had the most ginormous headache that no amount of pill taking would go away. So instead of doing anything productive, I camped out on the sofa and watched Disney films like the child I am.

Apart from that, my week was mainly full of chilling out, good food and painting.

sexy bear.

Apologies for the above. The bf's contribution since he stopped me from typing by tucking his head under my arm....he doesn't appear to be moving so it looks like I'm going to have to do the rest of this post one handed. And to think I thought I was free to type since we don't live with any cats now. Anyway, on with my photos from the week:

food and painting

*Starbucks run at work. Lovely.
*Claire made rhubarb crumble from the garden. Yum!
*Ginger and chilli chocolate I got from a market in Chorlton.
*My 25 before 25.
*Claire also made cinnamon "bis-cakes". Not quite biscuits and not quite cakes, but quite delicious!
*Mexican chilli and chocolate sauce. Asda own brand (oh yes). An interesting taste. Not quite chilli and not quite chocolate. Not sure if I liked it.
* Painting finally. I was in the mood to paint hot air balloons. Probably goes with my current mood at the moment of wanting to travel.
*More hot air balloons in my sketchbook.

I am really getting itchy feet - I want to travel again. I totally blame my family. My parents can't seem to stay in one place and I get the same feeling from time to time - it's in my blood. I literally cannot keep track of my parents - I need their calendar synched to mine on my iphone.

At the moment I simultaneously want to go to Disney World, drive across the USA and for October to hurry up so I can go to India (my holiday that's actually going to happen!). It's probably because of the crappy weather here. How British is that for an excuse? I just want to go on an adventure.

Do you ever feel like you just want to get away from it all? Are you going anywhere interesting this "summer"?

My week: 19

Another week gone. This was the weekend of 2 vintage fairs! I've never done that before. Hard core.

*I finally finished the illustration for my banner. I was only doing it during my lunch breaks on a sketchbook ap on my iPad. What do you think?
*How cute are these magazine racks? I need to get one once I move. Saw these at the Vintage Village fair in Stockport at the stall across from mine.
*Little doodles while I work. I just can't help it. Oh and that's a teacup saying drink me, it's hard to tell!
*The stand in the same room as me at the Chorlton Craft and Vintage fair. Jewellery by the lovely Michelle.
*Axl using his scratching post as a head rubber. He was really going to town!
My clothes rail at the Chorlton fair.
*Slingshot shoe. Another treasure from my shoe a day calendar.
*This picture really doesn't do justice to how pretty the sky was last night.

Another week at work same old, but something different I did this week was do 2 fairs. So it's safe to say I'm pretty tired. It was my first time at the Chorlton fair but I'm definitely going back. Not only did I sell a lot but I really liked the vibe of the place. Plus, wasn't the weather gorgeous this weekend? At least it was up here in Manchester.

The Vintage Village was a good one as well even though I was very late! But I can proudly say I set up very quickly by myself. I also found out that Woy my car really doesn't like steep steep hills! He's ok and so am I now, ha ha.

Now I'm going to take a break and just chill for the remainder of the evening (like an hour before I have to go to bed!)
