Hello all! I hope everyone had a merry Christmas. I think I'm just getting over all the food I consumed yesterday. I drove back to my parents house on Christmas Eve and am really happy to be home.
I just love the space and light in my parent’s house. It
probably feels even better as this is the first time in a while I’ve been in a place with
lots of windows during the day. I missed
you sunshine.
How cute are these little mince pies? They were the perfect
size for a mid morning snack with a cup of tea!
Lunch is served!
What I wore:
Blouse: Dorothy Perkins
Necklace: Superdrug
Skirt: Vintage
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
My Dorothy Perkins shirt has that ideal balance of festive
and everyday-wear that means I can both wear it to work all year round and wear
it for Christmas dinner. The beading can either be snowflakes or stars
depending on your point of view. Plus the material is so soft – I’m so glad I
own it.
This pleated skirt was picked up in my recent vintage kilo
sale haul earlier this month (promise I’ll show the rest soon!). I found it near
the bottom of a big bin I was rummaging in – note: definitely take the time to
rummage in the tubs at a kilo sale, that’s where all the best stuff is! – and
as soon as I picked it up I knew it was the perfect length for an everyday
skirt.
Is it just me or are the skirts on the high street either
too long or too short (Remember "Call me Grandma")? Since I’ve been losing weight and my current
skirts are getting too big, I’ve been dreading having to find new ones. When I
picked this one up, I thought “great length, bit small but I’ll probably fit
into it in a few weeks”. And this week was the one where it fit (such a great feeling btw).
Finally, I rounded off my Christmas day outfit with some
colourful tights and my black flats. I
was originally going to wear black tights but my old colourful self jumped out
and grabbed these maroon ones. Definitely the right choice – I have really
missed wearing colour!
Nail Varnish: Topshop - Crystal Clouds
I love this nail varnish shade – again, it’s so festive but you can easily get away with wearing it all year round.
How was your Christmas?
I love that shirt. It's very pretty. I miss being able to wear skirts. It's impossible to get good maternity ones. I'm on the look out for some new ones for after the birth but I completly agree. They're all too long or too short! X
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm sure you do miss them - you haven't got too long to go now though right? Hope it's all going ok :) x
